Nice place to stay while spending some days in Easter Island. Antoine is very present on getting us all the information we need, whether we need a tour, rent a car, etc. He also went to pick us up at the airport which was vey nice.

Owners Antoine & Lolita were very friendly, did all they could to make our stay interesting and comfortable. Booked tours, advised where to go and where to shop - not that there were exactly many shops! Very pretty gardens, good line to hang out washing.
Lack of facilities - E.G. no tv in the room, no toiletries, shower dangerously hot then ran cold before back to hot again. Quite expensive for what we got!

The service was excellent! Antoine speaks good English, French, Spanish and Rapa Nui. He met us at the airport, and he pre-arranged our tour and car rental before we arrived. The included breakfast was great. He and his wife were so gracious that we felt like we were part of their family.
The hotel isn't right in the business district in town, but the town is so small that it didn't matter. Plus all arranged activities picked us up at the hotel.

The owner is very hospital. He came to the airport to pick us up. After arrival, he gave us a very detailed guide for the tour very patiently. And the breakfast is also quite good.

The breakfast buffet was very good. Garden areas were well-maintained.
I was predisposed to giving the Hotel Atavai a decent review for the 2 nights we spent there - that is, until it was time to check out. The owner, Antoine, would not accept visa for payment of the bill. He said that visa and Booked.net charged him an extra 10% and that we could just pay him the $200 in us dollars. When that failed, he tried to convince me to charge my PayPal account $220 in us dollars in lieu of using Booked.net - ridiculous! He tried to pretend that he didn't know how to use PayPal. I told him that this whole episode was outrageous and a form of illegal coercion. It took us more than 45 minutes to check out with the end result being that we paid him $190 in us dollars. The whole shakedown prevented us from doing some last-minute sightseeing before returning the car to the airport. Stay away from this place!
